A VERY TASTY READ.

DARK NIGHTS scared the hell
out of me! It is fast-paced and
the tension just doesnÕt stop.
Set primarily in Wichita, Kansas, this is one of those books you
canÕt put down until the end, when youÕre satisfied the bad guy wonÕt come
after you, too.
Max Luden is a bad guy of
epic proportions—truly evil.
He escapes from a psychiatric research study of the criminally
insane and is free to roam the streets without the population knowing how
very dangerous he is. Max has
no conscience and an addiction to the taste of human flesh.
Doctor Sydney Rochester
believes every life matters and truly wants to help people with mental
defects. Max Luden is the most
mentally defective patient sheÕs ever encountered. Even though sheÕs terrified when he
escapes from the research program she assigned him to, she bears up and
works with the FBI in their efforts to catch him again—knowing she is
the main course on MaxÕs menu.
FBI Special Agent Garon
Sloan is determined to catch the homicidal maniac, again, and is still
pissed Max was saved from death row by a damn liberal shrink. Once he meets that damn liberal
shrink, however, catching Max takes second place to killing Max and
protecting the only woman who has captured his interest since his wife was
brutally slain fifteen years ago.
Sydney and Garon provide a
thought provoking debate on the death penalty, which adds even more tension
to a tightly woven suspense story.
The attraction between
Sydney and Garon is intense—a sexy love/hate thing. The love scenes are hot. The changes Garon and Sydney go
through due to their experiences with Max are profound.
DARK NIGHTS is definitely
worth reading. If you havenÕt
read Ms. Dawn yet, start doing so immediately! YouÕre in for a real treat.

In her novel "Dark
Nights", Shelley Dawn introduces us to Max Luden, the scariest of
serial killers. Dr Sydney Rochester diagnosed Max as incompetent to stand
trial and now he has escaped and Sydney is on his list of victims. Garon
Sloan, one of the FBI's best, is committed to catching Luden and saving
Sydney. What follows is a well-crafted thriller sure to hold your interest
and give you nightmares. Once you finish reading "Dark Nights"
you will be a fan of this author and her story telling ability. DARK NIGHTS
is a truly great read.

The book is extremely
entertaining. Once you start reading it you don't want to put it down. I
have talked to several people who read the book and they talked about
staying up until 2:00AM to 3:00AM reading the book (and then being
exhausted the next day at work).
The book's villain is an
insane serial killer, Max, that escapes from a research facility for the
criminally insane. Max's main prey is Dr. Sydney Rochester, the
psychologist who conducted the research analysis on him at the facility.
She was totally terrified by his threats, made at their sessions, to
torture and kill her. When Sydney found out that Max had escaped her life
turned topsy-turvy into absolute turmoil.
A FBI agent who was
instrumental in originally capturing Max was assigned to protect Sydney.
Due to personality differences and the trying circumstances they develop an
immediate dislike for each other. After working together to avoid Max and
getting to know each other better, they develop an intense attraction for
each other. However, love is put on hold to chase a killer as Max begins
his killing spree.
There are scenes of extreme
violence but are handled very tastefully by the author. She leaves the
reader to use their own imagination for whatever level of gory details they
desire.
The book is very
interesting, scary, and suspenseful with the outcome in doubt to the very
end. The dialog and the descriptions of the scenes were so vivid I could
visualize the scenes as well as watching them at a movie.
The author's style makes the
book smooth pleasant reading. I highly recommend this book!
